There are a lot of sites out there that promise to make event ticket buying easy and painless. Some of them allow you to purchase tickets for pre-determined values and others allow you to bid on the tickets that you want.
For the purpose of this post, we’ll be focusing on the latter.
Specifically, ScoreBig.com offers access to tickets for sports, concerts, theater, Broadway, family shows and attractions. The difference over most is that this service is incredibly easy.
Simply put, all you need to do is:
- Choose your event.
- Choose the seating area of the event that you’re wanting to attend (by choosing the area instead of the exact seat, ticket providers have greater flexibility to provide their best prices).
- Choose the price that you’re willing to pay (they don’t tell you what to pay).
- Click “Bid” and you’re given an instant answer.
Obviously ticket providers have certain thresholds on what they’re willing to charge for their tickets… and that’s no different with ScoreBig. When you designate the price that you’re willing to pay (based on the seating area that you’ve selected for your venue), you’ll get a little message that appears that shows the likelihood of your bid being accepted.
Just to test this out, I selected a few different seating options based on what I wanted to pay. I started with what would be considered the most expensive seats and worked in the direction of the least expensive. Each time I attempted a potential bid that was too low for the seating area in question, the message would tell me that it was unlikely that my bid would be accepted.
The reason that I mention this is because you can be blocked from submitting bids for a particular seating area for up to 24 hours… if you keep low-balling the site on the cost that you want to pay.
The site also gives you an average price range of each seating area, which is helpful as a starting point for your bid.
In all, I was really pleased with ScoreBig’s ease of use and the unambiguous way that it set up the bidding process. Once I found the seating area that fit my budget, I placed my bid, won the tickets and received an email shortly thereafter that contained a download link.
More importantly, ScoreBig doesn’t charge any fees and you get free delivery (for tickets that require shipment).
Having purchased discount tickets several different ways, ScoreBig was bar far the most convenient.
FatherhoodFactor.com highly recommends it!
